- Ascorbic Acid
A short human experiment tested 15% L-ascorbic acid with 1% alpha-tocopherol and 0.5% ferulic acid against a vehicle before simulated UV exposure. It measured local damage markers and cannot isolate vitamin C or establish long-term prevention. The findings do not replace sunscreen.
- Ferulic Acid
Ferulic acid was tested with ascorbic acid and alpha-tocopherol in the same short human UV experiment. The combination reduced measured damage markers; this does not establish ferulic acid alone as sun protection or show long-term cancer prevention.
- Tocopherol
Alpha-tocopherol was part of the same vitamin C and ferulic acid mixture tested before experimental UV exposure. Its individual contribution was not isolated, and the finding does not transfer to tocopheryl esters or another serum.
