What the research shows
Human research on a combination
An open-label, single-arm study evaluated a cream with 1% bisabolol, 3% arbutin, 4% nicotinamide and 0.05% retinaldehyde. Melasma scores and measured surface area decreased during treatment.
What this does not tell us
The study had no control group and cannot isolate bisabolol. The abstract does not report sample size or treatment duration. It does not establish a general anti-inflammatory or sensitive-skin benefit for another product.
