What the research shows
Human research on a combination
Avobenzone plus padimate O protected against experimentally induced UVA effects better than a comparator containing padimate O, oxybenzone and octyl salicylate.
What this does not tell us
Subjects were photosensitized with oral methoxsalen; the reported result is a filter combination, not an isolated avobenzone effect or routine-use outcome.
