Common lactate salts judged safe in consumer cosmetics up to 10%, final pH at least 3.5, with sun-sensitivity precautions.
What this does not tell us
Dated group AHA assessment with read-across, not calcium-lactate-specific benefit. Salon conditions differ. Local melasma trial used calcium lactate as placebo, not efficacy intervention.
