What the research shows
Laboratory and human research
Human skin measurements and in vitro diffusion studies correlated dipropylene-glycol uptake with delivery of the model drug ibuprofen.
What this does not tell us
An excipient delivery experiment, not a clinical skin-benefit trial. Findings concern the tested solvent-drug system; they do not prove moisturizing efficacy.
