What the research shows
Human topical treatment study
Henna-curcumin ointment did not significantly prevent capecitabine-associated hand-foot syndrome; a post hoc analysis suggested delayed onset.
What this does not tell us
90 randomized over four chemotherapy courses. Co-active curcumin, specific botanical ointment and post hoc timing analysis do not isolate henna benefit. Plant part and extraction are not established in abstract, so applicability is preparation-specific. Pure lawsone is not substituted for henna.
