Human topical treatment study

Both 0.2% Thiamidol and 4% hydroquinone improved melasma measures; between-group differences were not significant.

What this does not tell us

50 women randomized, 49 completed, 90 days and tinted SPF 60 sunscreen in both groups. No vehicle comparison and no formal equivalence established. Two Thiamidol recipients developed allergic contact dermatitis.
