Human topical research
Pooled trial data showed greater dandruff reduction with 1% zinc-pyrithione shampoo than non-antidandruff shampoo, with a larger response in males.
What this does not tell us
Secondary pooled analysis of 17 studies rather than one new trial;2088 participants in efficacy pool, 143 separateparticipants in lipid/protein analysis. Formulation and scalp outcomes limit generalization; no current regulatory claims.
