Panel judged calcium hydroxide safe in hair straighteners/depilatories under recommended conditions with minimized skin contact; other assessed uses require non-irritating formulations. Strong alkalinity and product/use restrictions matter. Group safety, not skin-conditioning benefit. Dental pulpotomy trial is not cosmetic evidence.
