Safety Assessment of Polyfluorinated Polymers as Used in Cosmetics.

What was studied

Panel judged PTFE and hexafluoropropylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer safe at described cosmetic-use practices and concentrations. Ten other polyfluorinated polymers had insufficient data. Read-across, dated practices and impurity controls matter. This assessment does not establish cosmetic benefit or environmental safety of all PFAS.
