Topical taurine reduced surfactant-induced water loss; laboratory models showed less inflammatory injury and greater barrier lipid synthesis. Challenge model, not long-term disease efficacy; sample, concentration, randomization and duration not established by abstract. Taurine-conjugated bile acid and bromamine are distinct derivatives.
