What was studied

Twenty-one healthy volunteers received 24-hour forearm patches of surfactants with or without free betaine, betaine alone, water and an unoccluded control. Reactions were evaluated 24 hours after patch removal. Concentrations, randomisation and blinding are not reported in the abstract. This is experimental irritation, not a finished-product use trial.
