EFSA established an oral acceptable daily intake of 6 mg/kg body weight/day using chronic rat toxicology and uncertainty factors.

What this does not tell us

Food additive assessment and oral exposure estimates, not topical cosmetic benefit or skin tolerance. Some high child intake estimates exceeded the ADI.
