- Avena Sativa Kernel Extract
In two 20-woman panels, a specific 1% oat lipid extract formula was associated with lower roughness after 56 days; the reported statistical test was against baseline. Randomisation and blinding were not established, the authors included ingredient-company employees, and the result cannot be transferred to every oat kernel extract.
- Lactic Acid
In a 22-week vehicle-controlled trial, 8% L-lactic acid cream improved roughness on photodamaged forearms. The acid form, concentration and cream base matter; a label alone does not reveal free-acid level or pH.
