Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Balm is a targeted emollient that effectively combats severe dryness, flakiness, and itching associated with eczema/atopic dermatitis. Helps to manage and reduce flare-ups. Recommended for infants, children, and adults with dry, sensitive, itchy, and atopic skin on the face and body. Key ingredients include the unique I-Modulia (a biotechnological innovation developed by Pierre Fabre Laboratories after 12 years of research) which reduces itching sensations, soothes discomfort due to skin hyperreactivity, and allows the skin to protect itself once again. Cer-Omega nourishes and restores the skin and strengthens the protective hydrolipidic film (natural skin barrier). Rich in the signature Avène Thermal Spring Water, known for its soothing and anti-irritating properties. Fragrance-free. Preservative-free. Paraben-free. Dr Webster’s Recommendation: Atopic eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease characterised by severe dryness and itching due to a genetically impaired skin barrier function. As part of the ongoing treatment and maintenance of the skin, I always recommend that my patients use products that have been specifically formulated for this condition – this is important, as using the wrong ingredients can cause a flare-up. This lipid-replenishing balm, together with Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil, contain a microflora unique to Avène Thermal Spring Water called Aqua.Dolmiae, which has been clinically proven to reduce the usual symptoms of AD of itching and dryness and to restore the skin barrier function.
